My focus at the moment is on women's health and in particular the menopause.
Scant attention is payed to this area, resulting in a huge lack of understanding and awareness of the effects that this fundamental biological change has on women. Given that it affects around half the world's population and can last for years with significant physical and emotional consequences I believe it should be given far more attention than it is. If only to give women the tools and preparation and knowledge to deal with it, as well as giving family, friends and employers also an understanding of the issue.
Women are often taken by surprise by the changes in their bodies, mind and emotions and may not realise that their forgetfulness, anxiety or depression is a direct consequence of changes in hormones and not a breakdown or failure in their body.
I want to talk about these changes and about the natural options that women can use to help their symptoms before, or instead of turning to HRT and drugs.
I recently treated a women who was experiencing a sudden surgically induced menopause following the removal of both ovaries. She was feeling tired and anxious and experiencing debilitating and frequent hot flushes. This was causing her anxiety over her ability to work effectively and deal with a busy life. Her doctor had advised HRT but she wanted to try and treat the problems in a natural way and was reluctant to take this route.
Over the course of a month she had 3 treatments where my focus was on rebalancing and relaxing the nervous system, mind and hormones. After the first 2 sessions she arrived for the third full of optimism and reported a significant change in her symptoms and general health. Her hot flushes had dramatically reduced in intensity and frequency so that she no longer worried about being caught out by one in a meeting or public place. Also her general energy levels were up and she felt a renewed sense of calm and focus and ability to deal with the pressures of life, family and work.
Whilst it's important to stress that everyone is different and Bowen work will result in different outcomes for different people, this was a wonderfully quick, effective and drug free course of treatment, which, combined with her own changes to diet and exercise meant that she didn't need to resort to HRT.
If anyone has any questions regarding using Bowen feel free to message me.
I'm offering a winter treatment gift of 3 sessions with the third half price. If you'd like to book get in touch.
In future posts I'll talk more about this and offer information and suggestions on natural ways you can help with this chapter in a woman life.
